CHAIN was funded by the National Library of Medicine in September 2000, one of sixteen AIDS Community Outreach Contracts awarded in FY2000. Designed to serve as a single entry point for Oklahomans needing information about HIV/AIDS, CHAIN is a joint project of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Bird Library, the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN - Oklahoma).
CHAIN offers information for educational purposes only, and it should not be regarded as medical advice. Every effort is made to provide access to reliable and timely content, but we cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the information presented. CHAIN does not collect personal information regarding its users. Web site usage logs are used to monitor activity at the site, but no personal data is ever included in reports derived from this data. We use email addresses only to respond to questions submitted by users of the site, and these email addresses are deleted after the question is answered. Copies of questions and answers are compiled, but no personally identifying data is maintained. Some pages within CHAIN provide links to other web sites that provide information relevant to HIV/AIDS. Once a user links to another site, the user is subject to the privacy policy of the new site.
CHAIN does not accept commercial advertising. Any mention of specific products, services, or vendors is meant for information purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement.
