Where can I find statistics on HIV/AIDS?

 

To find statistics on HIV/AIDS, you can begin on the CHAIN Links page.

  1. Scroll down to the MEDLINEplus section and click on AIDS.
     
  2. From the menu on the left side, click on Statistics.

  3.  
  4. Select HIV/AIDS Statistics(National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).

  5.  
  6. A Fact Sheet is provided which includes world and United States statistics.

  7.  
  8. Return to the Statistics section of MEDLINEplus: AIDS and select HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

  9.  
  10. From the menu on the left side, you can select the most recent edition of the Surveillance Report.

  12. This report provides statistics by state, sex, mode of exposure, age group, race/ethnicity, etc. An added feature is the option to receive an email notice of future releases of this report.

  1. Scroll down the Links page, and click on "HIV InSite".

  3. From the menu under the main banner select Countries & Regions.

  4.  
  5. Scroll down and under General Resources you may click on Statistics which covers world and United States data or chose a specific location under Regional & Country Analyses.

 

Additionally, you can return to the CHAIN Links page and select the AIDS Education Training Centers (AETC) National Resource Center - Links option.

  1. Scroll down and click on AIDS/HIV Statistics & Epidemiology.

  3. Select UNAIDS Epidemiology Facts.

  4.  
  5. Click on the Epidemiological Fact Sheets by Country.

  6.  
  7. By selecting a region or country from the drop-down menus provided, you can access information on HIV/AIDS incidence and prevalence and other epidemiological data for that area.
