Where can I find information on nutrition specifically for those with HIV/AIDS?

 

For resources in Oklahoma that provide information about nutritional concerns you can begin at the CHAIN home page by selecting the HIV Treatment and Care Resource Directory.

  1. Scroll down to "Search for a Service" and select Nutritional Evaluation and Counseling from the drop-down menu.

  2. Select the appropriate area designation from the "Area" drop-down menu, and then click "Search".

  3. A list of organizations providing nutritional evaluation and counseling will be returned.

  4. Click on an organization name to view that organization's full record.

 

Nutritional information can also be located using the CHAIN Links page.

  1. Scroll down the Links page, and click on "HIV InSite".

    2.  
  2. Enter "nutrition" in the search box at the top of the page and click search.

    3.  
  3. The first link, AIDS Nutrition Services Alliance, and scrolling down the page, the link to theGuide to Healthful Living for People with HIV , are good choices.

  4. Click first on AIDS Nutrition Services Alliance.

    5.  
  5. From their menu select "Nutrition Fact Sheets".

    6.  
  6. Click on a title of interest from the presented list of fact sheets.

    7.  
  7. Return to the HIV InSite "Links: Nutrition" page and now select Guide to Healthful Living for People with HIV.

  8. Select topics of interest from the "Table of Contents".

 

Additionally, you can return to the CHAIN Links page and select the AEGIS-AIDS Education Global Information System option.

  1. From the menu on the left side of the page, click on "Key Topics".

  2. From the drop-down list that appears, select "Living with HIV".

    3.  
  3. Click on the "Nutrition" link.

    4.  
  4. Select nutrition topics of interest.
